Job Summary

Job Title: Data Engineer II

Job Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Job Description: Support data acquisition by locating datasets and software produced by MIDAS researchers through online searching, reviewing the scientific literature, and communicating with MIDAS researchers. Maintain data and software records by entering information about MIDAS datasets and software into a database such as geographical coverage, time period covered, origin of data/software, point of contact, and other related information. Quality check MIDAS datasets and software using defined quality-control methods. Standardize datasets into a defined format specifically developed for the MIDAS program. Participate as a full member of the scientific team, contribute to manuscripts and grant applications, and join the MIDAS annual meeting and other outreach activities organized by the NCC.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, or a related field + 1 year of experience as a Data Engineer II or any related occupation.
