Non-Tenure Stream Visiting Lecturer or Visiting Instructor in Communication, beginning Fall semester 2024.

The Department of Communication at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a one-year visiting position as Visiting Lecturer for AY 2024-25. We seek candidates to teach undergraduate courses such as Public Speaking, Communication & Society, and/or Organizational Communication. The starting date for the position is September 1, 2024 (even though the term begins during the last week in August). Applicants should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, a statement on diversity and inclusion, sample course syllabi and course assignments, and evidence of teaching effectiveness to join.pitt.edu with the position title, Visiting Instructor or Lecturer, in the subject heading. Two letters of reference should be sent by the recommenders directly to Lauri Freund llk1@pitt.edu. Questions may be directed to Lauri Freund, Administrator (llk1@pitt.edu). In order to receive full consideration, complete applications must be received by May 15, 2023.

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Communication or a related field by the time of this position. Preferred qualifications include experience teaching Public Speaking, Organizational Communication, and/or Communication & Society.
