A Postdoctoral Associate position is open in the laboratory of Dr. Daniel Clark within the Center for Craniofacial Regeneration at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. The Clark Lab is interested in the innate immune response within the oral mucosa during disease and tissue regeneration. We also study basic cellular and molecular mechanisms of age-related inflammatory dysregulation and its effect on periodontal disease and tissue regeneration. The laboratory utilizes mouse models of disease and tissue regeneration and employs scRNAseq, flow cytometry, and a variety of immunological and biomolecular laboratory techniques.

The qualified applicant will be required to conduct research, interpret results, and prepare manuscripts. They will participate in regular lab meetings and work closely with other lab members and collaborators. Previous experience with scRNAseq, R programming, flow cytometry, animal models, and basic biomolecular laboratory techniques is preferred but not required. Additional technical training opportunities will be made available as needed. Additional career training experiences in grant preparation, public presentations, and support with career development grants will be made available as desired by the associate.

Qualifications: Holds a PhD or advanced professional degree in a related biomedical research field. PhD candidates who are about to obtain their PhD are also encouraged to apply.
