A postdoc position is available at Wells Laboratory, in the Department of Pathology, University of Pittsburgh. The individual will be working on our leading-edge molecular cell biology understanding the signaling between different cell types in complex tissues and how these signals impact cell growth, quiescence, and differentiation. The candidate will receive unique multidisciplinary training in cell biology, immunobiology, microphysiological systems for ex vivo testing, and animal models. The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in a subfield of biology, bioengineering, or chemistry. A preference will be given to highly motivated candidates with an outstanding publication record and prior experience.

The Wells Laboratory is an investigative tissue research lab in the Department of Pathology, University of Pittsburgh. We are dedicated to the discovery and characterization of signals that lead to tissue homeostasis and prevent pathologies. Our two main areas are cancer dormancy (with an emphasis on cancers of the breast and prostate and melanomas) and angiofibrotic pathologies of scarring in the skin and other tissues. We are also focused on discoveries that can be applied towards the clinic and products relevant to human disease.

PhD required: Biology, Bioengineering or Chemistry
