The Opportunity

This position will assist with creating new vendors, and maintaining an accurate database of vendor master files. An accurate database of vendors will reduce the occurrences of duplicate vendors, therefore reducing the occurrence of duplicate payments, and prevent fraudulent payments. Proper coding of vendors will also ensure a smooth 1099 reporting period at the end of the year. Accuracy and confidentiality are critical in this position.

Primary responsibilities will include:
  • Assist with approving registrations and updates in PaymentWorks.
    • Will review registrations and updates for accuracy.
    • This includes returning/rejecting information and emailing vendors for clarification.
  • Verifying banking details for foreign wires.
    • Sometimes, foreign banking details are not verified in PaymentWorks.
    • This requires vendors to be called to verify the banking information.
    • This will help to prevent errors in payments and possible fraudulent activity.
  • Maintaining and researching vendor activity to inactivate any vendors no longer in use.

Qualifications :

Education/ExperienceThe successful candidate will hold a high school diploma or GED and experience in office environment.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Attention to detail.
  • Requires ability to clearly communicate with University employees and outside vendors.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality. Processing complex information.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and to take on increasing responsibilities.
The preferred candidate will hold an Associates degree in general business.

The preferred candidate will have:
  • 1-2 years experience in accounts payable
  • Oracle Experience.
  • PaymentWorks Experience
