Job Summary

The Campus Store is seeking a part-time Computer Technician. This position will provide technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for computer systems and peripherals for the University Campus Store. This position requires a strong understanding of hardware and software configurations, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients or end-users. Additionally, this position provide technical support to all Campus Store locations, including Campus Store Heath, Campus Store Sandy, and all off site sales events.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for clients or end-users.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade computer systems and software applications.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, virus scans, and backups.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to users via phone, email, or in person.
  • Troubleshoot and repair computer peripherals such as printers, scanners, and monitors.
  • Collaborate with IT staff and other departments to implement solutions and optimize system performance.
  • Document technical procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends in computer hardware and software.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including security protocols and data privacy regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and inventory of computer equipment and parts.
Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current University of Utah student.

Preferences
  • Proven experience as a computer technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and peripherals.
  • Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality support.
