Successful candidate must reside in New Jersey within one year of employment.

Duties:

Reports to the Superintendent of Schools; serves as a member of the
senior staff cabinet; manages labor relations and participates in all aspects of
collective bargaining; serves as a liaison to the Board of Education Policy and
Personnel Committee; attends Board of Education meetings; assures
Superintendent and Board awareness and approval of relevant personnel
actions; oversees and implements staff training and development; serves as
district liaison to the NJ Civil Service Commission and as hearing officer; serves
as employee 504 accommodation facilitator; conducts disciplinary action and
advises building administrators and colleagues on matters of employee
corrective and punitive action; oversees and manages staff recruitment and
retention; participates in efforts to assure diversity and equity in all
employment practices; serves as district liaison to substitute employee staffing
vendor; oversees implementation of leave and attendance policies and
procedures; oversees implementation of employee health insurance program
and workers’ compensation procedures; chairs the internal district safety
committee; oversees procedures for employee provisional certification and
alternate route qualification; works in cooperation with the Payroll Office on
matters of employee compensation and pension; oversees employee
orientation; produces and maintains job opportunity bulletins and position
descriptions; collects and submits personnel data as requested; related duties as
requested.

Requirements:

Master’s degree. Public school administration experience. Strong technology
skills. Experience with or knowledge of N.J. Smart, Achieve N.J, public school
certification and FMLA. School district senior management experience
preferred. Collective bargaining experience helpful.
