The School of Population Health is seeking a Fiscal Technician to join our team. The Fiscal Technician will provide operational support to process financial transactions and reconciliations. As a critical member of the administrative team, we are looking for a part-time Fiscal Technician to begin as soon as possible.

This position is eligible for remote work.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

Maintain a high-level knowledge in areas related to research finance, procurement, travel, reimbursements, Banner finance, and other appropriate fiscal areas
Using p-cards and purchase orders, complete purchases for faculty and staff including office supplies and research supplies.
Maintain transaction records
Ensure that expenditures are properly posted by reviewing and reconciling on a regular basis.
Research budget variances as necessary
Assist in the preparation of financial report and analyses.
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• A completed High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Working knowledge of federal and state fiscal policies and procedures.
• At least one year of prior experience using financial recordkeeping and/or procurement software systems
• Must have a demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in past experiences or a commitment to do so as an employee at VCU

Salary Range: $20 - $28 per hour
