Position Responsibilities:
The VCU Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Center invites applications for an hourly, part time research assistant position with an emphasis on supporting ongoing clinical trials in Huntington's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, and Parkinson's disease. The research assistant will join a research team to support all aspects of ongoing clinical research studies. The research assistant (RA) is responsible for identifying, contacting, and recruiting potential study participants. The RA is also responsible for handling basic information intake, recording and tracking study visit results, and providing logistical support by helping prepare space, materials, participant study binders, and equipment. Under the direction of a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC), the RA may assist in research visits with tasks delegated by the PI as appropriate. They may work independently or as a member of a team.
Key responsibilities include:
• Using EPIC, REDCAP and other sponsor supported electronic data capturing systems.
• Entering study participant data and answering queries.
• Assisting with IRB submissions, amendments, and continuing reviews
• Performing lab specimen processing, packaging and shipping.
• Helping log and order study lab supplies
• Maintaining regulatory binders, files, and important study documents.
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate coursework or Bachelor's Degree in the biological or social sciences. The candidate must be very detail-oriented and careful, as data integrity is paramount. The candidate must follow the VCU policies for the job code. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:
Clinical research experience.
