Position Summary:

The School of Population Health is in search of an Hourly Research Assistant to work on breast cancer disparities research by conducing literature searches, coding qualitative transcripts and assisting with writing for publication in peer-review journal. Summary of research projects below:

Required Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for searching for articles using pub med and other search engines (google scholar)
  • Summarizing articles included the search
  • Meeting with PI to discuss the review of literature
  • Assist with manuscript writing for publication
  • Excel spreadsheet organization of articles
  • Assist with qualitative coding of transcripts
Required Qualifications:
  • Research experience with conducting literature review -searching for articles using pub med and other search engines (google scholar)
  • Experience with summarizing research articles findings
  • Expertise in excel spreadsheet organization of articles, tables and PowerPoint
  • Background in public health research writing; manuscript writing
  • Qualitative research interest or background with coding of transcripts
  • Must have a demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in past experiences or a commitment to do so as an hourly employee at VCU
