The Center for Teacher Leadership, RTR Teacher Residency Program invites candidates to apply for the Residency Experience Coordinator position. RTR Teacher Residency, fosters a partnership between the VCU School of Education and Virginia school divisions to recruit, prepare, support, and retain extraordinary, inspiring teachers and teacher leaders who are committed to serving students in high-needs schools throughout the commonwealth. Our Residency Experience Coordinators manage all aspects of our teacher residency program including selecting, training, and supporting both Resident Teachers and Mentor Teachers.The RTR Teacher Residency Program is looking for Residency Experience Coordinator who specializes in the following areas:
● Professional learning
● Evidence-based instructional coaching, preferably using the New Teacher Center (NTC) model
● New teacher mentoring

Job duties for this position include but are not restricted to the following:
● Co-plan and facilitate professional learning for residency programs including, but not limited to:
● Full-day in-person and virtual training sessions
● Program Orientations
● Monthly Mentor Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
● Monthly Teacher Resident Seminars
School Leader Resident Seminars
● Co-plan and facilitate monthly New Teacher Coach professional development
● Supervise and support New Teacher Coaches
● Provide one-on-one New Teacher Coaching as needed
● Monthly evening commitments online and in-person
● Some local and national travel throughout the year
● Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree in education or related field
● 5+ years' teaching and/or instructional coaching experience in high-need schools
● Experienced presenter (both in-person and virtually), demonstrating proficiency in creating and executing professional learning experiences
● Track record of preparing teachers and teacher leaders through results-driven observation and feedback coaching practices
● Excellent oral and written communication
● Effective and efficient organizational and time management skills
● Evidence of leadership and initiative
● Commitment to fostering a diverse professional environment as a staff member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:

● Master's degree in education or related field
● Understanding of the RTR Teacher Residency Program
● Experience with the New Teacher Center (NTC) including Foundational Institute and Formative Assessment System
● Strong interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders
● Technology fluency, including Google Suite applications and Zoom
