About University Counseling Services: The mission of University Counseling Services is to support student success by providing clinical services, advocacy, recovery support, outreach, and professional training. The main office is located on the Monroe Park campus which serves primarily undergraduates and graduate students. Our additional office is located on the Health Sciences campus which serves graduate and health sciences professional students.
About the Role: Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) University Counseling Services (UCS) invites applications for a Senior Clinician position. This position will be located at our Health Sciences Campus and primarily provides services to our graduate students and health science professional students. General duties include initial assessments, brief individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, crisis work, trainee supervision, providing outreach presentations, consultation with university faculty and staff, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications |
Required Qualifications: MSW in Social Work or Master’s in a related field. The candidate must also be licensed eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia and licensed in Virginia within in two years of start date. Evidence of strong theoretical base informing clinical practice in both group and individual therapy. The position also requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written, strong interpersonal skills, experience with brief psychotherapy and group therapy, and experience working with diverse populations. The position requires working two evening per week. We seek someone who is collaborative in nature, practices good self-care, and possess the ability to manage a challenging workload while promoting a positive atmosphere and healthy relationships. |
