About the Role:
Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) University Counseling Services (UCS) invites applications for the position of Senior Staff Clinician. This position is located at our satellite office on our Health Science Campus and services our various professional schools such at the School of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, and the various Allied Health Programs. We are a dynamic center committed to promoting diversity and inclusion and invite applicants who share similar values. General duties include initial assessments, individual psychotherapy, group
psychotherapy, crisis work, trainee supervision, consultation with university faculty and staff, and other duties as assigned. Our Health Science Campus office is comprised of 3 full time staff members and several trainees. The position requires working two evening per week. Strong preference will be given to professionals who have an interest and experience in working with student with anxious presentations.
Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a MSW in Social Work or Master's in a related field with 2 years of experience. The candidate must also be licensed eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia with the requirement of being licensed within one year. The position also requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written, strong interpersonal skills, and experience with brief psychotherapy and group therapy. A demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical standards of professional practice, as well as an understanding of and commitment to diversity issues in the delivery of clinical services is also required. University Description
VCU is a public, urban university of over 30,000 students located on two campuses in the capital city of Richmond, VA. University Counseling Services has an APA-accredited doctoral internship training program. The multidisciplinary staff of UCS includes full-time clinicians from the fields of psychology and social work.
