The Virginia Community College System (VCCS) seeks a highly motivated individual for the position of Capital Outlay Program Manager at our System Office located in the beautiful Arboretum Business Park off the Midlothian Turnpike, southwest of Richmond, Virginia. The chief objective for this position is to provide program management for design and construction projects at multiple colleges, including providing oversight of major design and construction projects, small repair and replacement projects, and college initiated construction projects at assigned community colleges. Qualifications:
To accomplish the above, qualified candidates must have a combination of education and experience that allows successful performance of the required functions and substantial knowledge, skill and ability related to project design and construction project management and relative experience in construction administration of projects. The assigned colleges are primarily located in Southwest Virginia, so the ability to travel and stay overnight, and a valid driver's license and ability to operate a state-owned or rental vehicle are also required. Familiarity with building codes, regulatory and environmental requirements, project budget analysis and development and administration of contracts for architectural and engineering design is desired; as well as, experience working with a diverse staff for the achievement of departmental goals.
