This important role will act as an assistant to the Chief Financial Officer ("CFO"). The Associate Chief will support the CFO in the oversight of Virginia Housing's financial operations and portfolio of programs, activities, and related services. The role will effectively steward resources by supporting and managing the coordination of resources and by providing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities to Finance staff. This position will monitor developments in affordable housing program creation, financing, and implementation at the federal, state, and local levels. The position may manage and support staff within the Finance Division, including managing and supporting a Virginia Housing Fellow.

Hiring Range: $114,125 - $148,362
Hybrid work model (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

Responsibilities will include:
- Serving as a thought leader, trusted advisor, and champion on behalf of the CFO and Finance leadership.
- Helping the CFO prioritize strategic and operational goals.
- Identifying the areas of focus and the development of metrics and key performance indicators for success.
- Monitoring information flow, sometimes acting as a gatekeeper, ensuring the CFO's involvement in a project or decision-making process at the right moment.
- May be asked to perform similar duties as noted above for the Managing Director of Capital Markets, the Managing Director of Finance and other departmental leaders.
- Overseeing large, often cross-functional, division-wide projects or initiatives.
- Bringing together multiple stakeholders and helping drive decisions.
Qualified candidates must possess:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, public policy, and administration, or relevant field (Master's, CPA, or CFA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience managing programs, business operations and employee engagement.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experienced in Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Preferred experience includes:
- Prior corporate financial management experience
- Experience in lending, commercial real estate or community outreach
