Business Analyst

This important role will discover and document collective knowledge by gathering, analyzing and managing business requirements and processes for multiple concurrent programs and projects for Virginia Housing’s Project Management Office (PMO). The Business Analyst will work directly with Project Managers (PMs) and other business leads as assigned and works with varying areas across the Enterprise based on stakeholder management. Externally, the Business Analyst works directly with Virginia Housing contractors/consultants, vendors, and partners as needed. These partnerships will ensure that requirements and other documented inputs are captured correctly and comprehensively to reflect customer’s needs.
Our ideal Business Analyst is focused on collaborating to find solutions to keep momentum on project timelines, is highly proactive, resourceful and takes the initiative on ensuring requirements and documented processes are thorough. They take ownership of the success or failure of a project and tasks and has critical observation skills to extract actionable tasks and assignments;
Responsibilities will include:
- Identifying business needs and defining feasible solution scopes
- Working with stakeholders to understand their working environments while evaluating other work effort requirements that may cause conflict or redundancy
- Identifying and documenting business, technical, product, process and workflow requirements
- Analyzing, understanding and documenting “current state” processes to ensure that the clients and project team understand the context and implications of change
- Working with the client to prioritize and rationalize requirements
Qualified candidates must possess:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant work experience
- Several years’ advanced knowledge and progressive experience as a Business Analyst
- IT Cloud experience
- Technical background
- Proficient in MS Office, MS Visio and MS Project software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to listen, interpret and implement technical requirements
Preferred experience includes any of the following: PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP), Agile Analysis (IIBA-AAC) or equivalent designation

Hiring Range: $75,038 - $97,549
Hybrid work model (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
