Come join Virginia Housing as a Senior Staff Accountant.This important role will be responsible for supporting all Accounting Services functions & processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card program administration, vendor maintenance, general ledger analysis and reconciliation and bank account analysis and reconciliation. The Senior Staff Accountant will perform the final review of key accounting transactions while adhering to Virginia Housing policies, procedures, IRS and other legal requirements.

Hybrid work model (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
Hiring Range $75,038 - $97,549
Background and Credit Check will be performed as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities will include:
- Final Review of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Vendor Maintenance.
- Credit card program administration
- Employee expense management
- Key General Ledger account analysis
- Bank account analysis
- Balancing and reconciliation of financial modules
Qualified candidates must possess:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or equivalent experience.
- Basic knowledge of standard computer applications, banking applications and any general accounting software.
- Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and GASB standards.
- Knowledge of IRS Regulations & filings required by Virginia Housing; specifically 1099 and 1042 reporting.
- Strong in written, oral and interpersonal communication, as this person works in teams and independently. Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.
- Several years of work experience in accounting, banking, or finance with a specialty in accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor management, general ledger and bank account analysis and reconciliation.
