Job Description Summary

In a highly selective admissions environment, works closely with the Director of Admissions Systems and Sr. Associate Dean of Admissions Operations on departmental technology solutions in order to achieve recruitment and enrollment goals.

Job Description

Essential Functions:
  • Works as a team member to support Admissions Office enrollment management systems.
  • Perform and monitor batch processes of bi-directional data movement between the enrollment management system and other vital systems that interface with the Office of Admissions. Includes uploading data sets, in varying formats, to the Admissions Office enrollment management system, which may require downloading, decryption and manipulation of file for processing.
  • Monitor and/or perform routine import processes from third parties, including but not limited to testing agencies, search partners, SCOIR and Parchment.
  • Collaborates with technical/system personnel in other offices such as Information Systems, Financial Aid, Registrar's Office, and Finance to assist in troubleshooting system-related processing and data moving between systems.
  • Serve as back-up and technical support to the Senior Director of Admissions Systems and the Sr. Associate Dean of Admissions Operations for duties within the enrollment management system.
  • Serve as a liaison, model, and mentor for other Operations Processing staff, bringing processing issues to the attention of the Director Admissions Systems and the Sr. Associate Dean of Operations when necessary.
  • Represent UG Admissions on various campus wide committees, such as, but not limited to, Student Services and Engagement committee and Technical Support committee.
  • Resolves duplicate student records in Admissions systems at regular intervals, reporting to other departments on campus, as necessary.
  • Responsible for assisting in testing of systems, new processes, applications, etc., as necessary.
  • As part of a team, with annual systems cycle prep and enhancements for new admissions year. This includes the management of annual updates to each application version, including testing, publishing, and mapping of data to Admissions Office systems.
  • Assists in creating documentation relating to Admissions Office systems.
  • Provide daily ad-hoc assistance to Admissions staff on support and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of current issues and trends occurring in online user communities and utilizes those resources to research, identify, and propose process improvements.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • High school diploma plus specialized training in technical area required.
  • At least five years' relevant technical work experience required.
  • Prior use of enrollment management systems preferred.
  • Use of Technolutions Slate prioritized.
  • Knowledge of Wake Forest Educational and Campus Programs preferred.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in technical area preferred.
  • Experience in higher education preferred, particularly Admissions and/or Financial Aid.
  • Prior use of enrollment management systems preferred,
  • Knowledge of Wake Forest Educational and Campus Programs preferred.
