CEWD Allied Health Instructor
Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month continuing education and workforce development instructor who supervises and provides classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction for a variety of courses, including certified nursing assistant (CNA), clinical medical assistant, and nurse refresher clinical practicum courses.
This position will also conduct site visits when applicable; serve as team leader; communicate with the Maryland Board of Nursing; orient and mentor new part-time instructors; and ensure consistency of instruction across courses.
Requirements include a current Maryland RN license; an associate degree; two years of teaching experience (successful completion of a course in the principles of adult education prior to or within three months of hire may be substituted for the teaching experience); knowledge of MD nursing regulations; basic computer skills; and a valid driver’s license.
Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and/or American Heart Association instructor certification.
The successful candidate must be physically capable of assisting individuals in a variety of settings including skills lab, long-term care facility or hospital. Physical requirements include transferring and lifting patients, aiding and supporting patients in walking, rolling/turning and assisting patients in bed, transporting and operating medical equipment, handling emergency situations including but not limited to preventing patient falls and meeting other physical demands that are required for the position.
